The Golden Harry Hammon Business Award

It is with great pride, that the Blue Mountains Business Advantage Awards will honour one of the greatest business men to establish a solid business in the Blue Mountains, the late Harry Hammon.

Harry Hammon took a passing comment from some American soldiers and turned it into a business that he has been able to pass onto his family, helping to establish the strong tourism attraction that visitors have to our Blue Mountains.

By establishing the Scenic Railway, Harry brought a great deal of passing trade to so many businesses, but also because his dream became a reality, Harry allowed others to establish their dreams of owning their own businesses, and helped the Blue Mountains become a tourist mecca in New South Wales.

It is with a great honour that we have established the “Harry Hammon Gold Business Advantage Award”, which will be awarded to the ultimate business in the Blue Mountains, taken from all the winners of the other categories.

The other Award categories include “Business Advantages” in Business Service, Customer Service, Tourism, New Business, Indigenous Entrepreneur, Disability Access, Environmental, Trades & Services, Employer of the Year, Employee of the Year (over 25 yo), Young Employee of the Year (under 25), Child Friendly Business and Community Advantage.

So get ready for June 18, when applications are available for each of these categories. If you enter, you could be our first Harry Hammon Gold Business Advantage Award winner on Friday, 10 August.
